Iowa Native Logan Ogden Named Director of Men’s Basketball Athletic Performance

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Iowa native Logan Ogden has been named the director of men’s basketball athletic performance for the University of Iowa men’s basketball program, it was announced Thursday by head coach Ben McCollum.
Ogden brings 14 years of experience with him to Iowa City, including the past four seasons as the director of strength and conditioning at Utah (2021-25), where he provided year-round comprehensive training for the Utes’ men’s basketball program.
He also served in a director role at Utah State (2018-21) and Nebraska Omaha (2015-18), he was an assistant strength coach at Augustana University (2013-15) and served as a graduate assistant at South Dakota State (2011-13).Ogden was named to Silver Wave Media’s list of most impactful strength and conditioning coaches in the country in August of 2022.
Ogden holds certifications through the CSCCa (SCCC), NSCA (CSCS), FRCms, USA Weightlifting (Sport Performance Coach Level 1), the Gray Institute (3D Maps) and is RPR-2 certified.
A two-sport student-athlete at Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, Ogden participated in both track & field and football. He was a seven-time NAIA National Track Meet qualifier and earned NAIA All-America honors in 2011. Ogden was also a six-time GPAC all-conference selection in track and a two-time honoree in football.
The What Cheer, Iowa, native graduated with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Northwestern College in 2011 before earning a master’s nutrition, exercise and food science from South Dakota State in 2014.
He and his wife, Caitlyn, have two daughters, Ellie and Rylee, and a son, Wyatt.
