INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The University of Iowa rowing team completed the Big Ten Championship Sunday at Eagle Creek Reservoir. The Hawkeyes’ II Varsity Eight, I Varsity Four and II Varsity Four all exceeded their seedings in the final day of competition.

The field consisted of No. 2 Washington, No. 7 Rutgers, No. 10 Michigan, No. 16 Indiana, No. 17 Ohio State, No. 23 USC, No. 25 UCLA, Iowa, Michigan State, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.

The Hawkeyes had two All-Big Ten honorees including, Orla Cuffe (First Team) and Natalie Maher (Sportsmanship Award)

RESULTS
Washington won the 2025 Big Ten Rowing Championships with 264 points, sweeping all seven events. Followed by Rutgers 239, Michigan 212, Indiana 158, Ohio State 135, USC 131, Minnesota 127, Michigan State 125, UCLA 72, Iowa 66, and Wisconsin 53.

“The team responded today and showed out with really solid performances. Looking at the third and fourth varsity races, they were able to get ahead with gutsy performances. In the fours, they all went out and attacked, with the 1V4 finishing fearless. Our 2V8 showed out and had a much more complete race, while the 1V8 had an unbelievable second half of the race which showed their heart and determination that they have had all year. Even though we may not have had the result that we wanted, everyone grew from yesterday to today, rising to the occasion, which is a good step forward for next year!”
