Success has been a very familiar concept in the Griswold softball’s recent history. The Tigers come into 2025 after four consecutive 20+ winning seasons and 26 wins in three of the last four campaigns. Head Coach Jody Rossell says she will retain lots of talent from a year ago.

Griswold relied on two pitchers last season and both of them graduated in the offseason. Expect to see new faces in the circle for the Tigers but she believes they are ready to compete.

Wahlert was CAM’s ace a year ago as an eighth grader throwing 111 innings and filing a 3.08 earned run average. Despite new arms on the pitching for the Tigers, they return their top hitter a year ago in Marissa Askeland who hit a staggering .468. The senior led the team in doubles, runs driven in and walks as well. Rossell says she feels blessed to have so much offensive power returning.

The Tigers have come up a game shy of a trip to the state tournament in the previous two season, however Rossell says it is all about just being the best versions of themselves possible.

Griswold and CAM are teaming up this year on the diamond in a co-op and the new bond has been going smooth as can be says Rossell.

The Tigers begin their journey to get that state tournament berth Tuesday in a home matchup against East Mills.
