The Griswold Baseball team is looking strong in the preseason according to Head Coach Ryan Lockwood. The Tigers have a few key returners along with some underclassmen who will look to contribute. In the early stages of preseason, Lockwood says his team is ready to roll.

Lockwood says having a bigger roster this year will allow him to be flexible day in and day out.

The Tigers will rely on Senior Bode Wyman both from the plate and the mound this Spring. Wyman will be considered the team’s ace once again this season.

Wyman collected a 3.20 earned run average while striking out 49 hitters in 39 innings tossed a season ago. Lockwood will also look to Brayden Lockwood who will be another top arm for the Tigers.

On the offensive side, Griswold returns their top two hitters in Wyman and Senior Zane Johnson. Lockwood says Johnson will bring the power to the Tiger lineup.

The Tigers search for their first winning season in nine seasons and the way Griswold plays the game and the experience they have could lead them in the right direction.

Griswold opens the season Monday Monday, May 19th on the road at Atlantic.
