Former Iowa State defensive back Darien Porter hopes to make an immediate impact for the Las Vegas Raiders next season. The Bettendorf native was taken in the third round of last month’s NFL Draft after a breakout senior season that saw him earn honorable mention All Big-12 honors. He joins a Raider team that lost two of three corners from last season.
Porter says the adjustment to the NFL will require more man coverage.
It has been a long road to the NFL for Porter, who began his college career as a receiver.
Porter says being a former receiver has actually helped him as a corner.
