IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) – A former Iowa City West star died while running the Brooklyn Half Marathon, on May 17^th. Charles Rogers graduated from Iowa City West in 2012.

As a senior in high school, Rogers was named an Elite All-State selection. He then continued his football career at Iowa State, where he played two seasons for the Cyclones.

In 2014, Rogers transferred to Iowa Western Community College. He then went on to play two seasons at the University of Minnesota. Rogers ended his football career at Lindenwood University in Missouri.

University of Minnesota football honored Rogers on Facebook Tuesday.
