Fiber optic-based internet provider to holding a groundbreaking ceremony in Greenfield

(Greenfield, Iowa) – An Arkansas fiber-optic internet provider, in partnership with the Greenfield Chamber of Commerce, will host a groundbreaking ceremony May 19th in Greenfield, to celebrate a new fiber build that will complete the company’s fiber expansion project in Greenfield. Officials with Kinetic say the company is investing another $400,000 to bring high-speed internet to 610 homes and businesses in the community. That’s is in addition to 310 homes and business that are already fiber-eligible via a $250,000 fiber rebuild the company completed last fall after the tornado destroyed its copper-based network infrastructure.
Once the new build is complete, Greenfield will have a total of 19 miles of buried fiber, covering the majority of the town, and 920 fiber-eligible homes and businesses. Kinetic officials say their investment in Greenfield is about more than just delivering high-speed internet—it’s about being a true partner to the community, through the good and the bad, and opening up new possibilities in business, education, tele-health, gaming, and more.
The ceremony – which takes place at 11-a.m. in the Greenfield City Park – will feature remarks from Jimmie Schultz, Mayor of Greenfield, and Stacie Eshelman, Executive Director of the Greenfield Chamber of Commerce.
