Emely Rodriguez Signs With Iowa WBB

IOWA CITY, Iowa — UCF transfer Emely Rodriguez has signed a scholarship agreement with the University of Iowa women’s basketball program, it was announced Monday by P. Sue Beckwith, MD, head coach Jan Jensen.
The 6-foot, forward from the Dominican Republic will have three seasons of eligibility remaining with the Hawkeyes. Rodriguez spent her first season at Central Florida where she was named to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team.
Rodriguez is the fifth player to join the 2025-26 Hawkeye roster this summer, joining Georgia Tech transfer Chazadi ‘Chit-Chat’ Wright and a trio of high school signees; Addie Deal, Layla Hayes, and Journey Houston.
“We are thrilled to add Emely to our team because she is a skilled, versatile and strong guard that can score on every level and has a great defensive presence,” said Jensen. “Her versatility will also give us increased depth and our fans will enjoy watching her skill set. We are so excited for her to be a Hawkeye.”

- Tallied 297 points on the season, the second most on the team, despite missing a five-game stint due to injury
- Posted her first career double-double on Nov. 29 against Montana State, finishing with 12 points and 12 rebounds
- Tied at No. 3 on the Knight stat chart in rebounds, averaging 5.3 rpg and bringing in 132 on the campaign
- Recorded the highest free throw percentage on the team, making 75 percent from the charity stripe
- Averaged 11.9 ppg, scoring in double figures on 16 occasions
- Second on the team in steals, snagging 36 on the season
- Had a career-high 21 points against Iowa State on Feb. 25
