CAM Girls Look to Finish Track Season Strong
May 5th, 2025 by Jack McGonigal
The CAM Girls Track & Field team are on the final stretch of the regular season and are competing at a high-level heading into the last few regular season meets. The Cougars come off of a third-place finish at the Dave Tapps Invitational in Van Meter last week, a meet filled with good competition according to Head Coach Luke Symonds.
At Van Meter, Sophomore Ruthie Rich won the 100-meter dash running a 12.95, while Sophomore Ada Hansen took home the crown for the 100 and 400-meter hurdles. Symonds says Hansen will be running in multiple events as the season finishes.
The talent isn’t solely on the track for the Cougars, as there is plenty of skill in the field as well.
Symonds says it’s time to focus on the Rolling Valley Conference meet this week.
Throughout the entire season, effort has been extremely noticeable.
After the Cougars wrap up the conference meet, they will have two chances to compete before the state qualifying meet at Madrid.
