CAM Boys Track & Field Showing Consistency Throughout Spring Season
May 9th, 2025 by Jack McGonigal
The CAM Cougars Track & Field team come off of a sixth-place finish at the Southwest Valley Conference meet Friday highlighted by three second place finishes in the relay events. The Cougars have finished a season-best third place in three different meets this season, most recently at Boyer Valley on Tuesday. Head Coach Drew Ticknor says it isn’t the relay teams succeeding but they’re winning in every aspect this season.
The Cougars have 15 student-athletes out this season with just one senior in Brayden Chester. Nearly half of the roster is built with freshmen. Ticknor says getting the younger guys on the track as much as he can has played a huge role in the depth of this team.
The sophomore class has really stepped up according to Ticknor, and he believes that will carry CAM Cougar Track & Field a long way in the near future.
The Cougars have just one regular season meet in Guthrie Center Monday. That will be followed by the state qualifying meet in Madrid Thursday.
