Audubon Girls Track & Field Aim to Hit Stride as Season Winds Down
May 7th, 2025 by Jack McGonigal
The Audubon Girls Track & Field season is winding down, but the Wheelers are looking to ramp up the intensity as the postseason approaches. The mental aspect of track is almost as substantial as the physical components says Head Coach Alaena Christensen. She also notes the Wheelers aren’t settling for less.
Audubon has participated in nine meets this season and finishing a season-best sixth place at the AHSTW co-ed meet in April and last week at the Gonzales/Parrish Invitational at ACGC. Throughout the season, points have come from many different athletes in several different events.
Christensen says the relays have been scoring events for Audubon, but flexibility has also been a key factor in the Wheelers’ success this spring.
Heading into the postseason, strategy and bringing their A game will be critical.
The Wheelers have two regular season meets, followed by the state qualifying meet in Clarinda.
