(Charles City, Iowa) – Two people were injured this (Friday) morning in northern Iowa, when a pickup and a tractor collided. The Iowa State Patrol reports a 2024 Ford F-650 driven by 37-year-old Trevor D. Winfrey, of Rockwell, was traveling north on Highway 218 in Floyd County, at around 8:10-a.m., when the pickup struck a northbound John Deere tractor that was pulling a planter.

The impact caused the tractor/planter to spin around and enter the ditch before flipping over. The driver of the tractor, 54-year-old William J. Ruzicka, of Charles City, was ejected from the tractor. The pickup truck came to rest upright in the ditch.

Winfrey and Ruzicka were transported by ambulance to the Floyd County Medical Center. The crash remained under investigation. The Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Charles City Fire Department and AMR Ambulance.
