Riverside student athlete signs with Morningside University swim program

Keaten Rieken signs a letter of intent to swim at Morningside University in Sioux City, Iowa while Morningside Coach, Brian Farris, and Atlantic High School swim coach, Cody McCreedy, watch.

Keaten Rieken, senior at Riverside High School in Oakland, signed a letter of intent to swim at Morningside University in Sioux City, where he plans to study aviation and become a professional pilot.

Keaten participates in football, track and baseball for Riverside and swims on the Atlantic High school team as part of a co-op program between Atlantic, Riverside and Griswold.  Rieken broke the school record in the 100 yd fly his junior year and then lowered it again this year. Keaten also swims competitively on the Avoca swim team summer program and Nishna Valley YMCA winter swim team, which began when he was 9 years old.

He also is a member of the Riverside band and choir programs, NHS, and RSTN radio broadcasting program.

Supporting Keaten during his signing were Cody McCreedy, Atlantic HS swim coach, Brian Farris, Morningside University swim coach, parents Marty and Kristy Rieken, siblings Kort, Kas, Maelie Rieken and Riverside swim teammates – Paxtyn Meek, Lucas Doyle, Wyatt Schechinger, Dalton Schechinger.
