Iowa Wraps Up 2nd Round at Big Ten Championships

BALTIMORE, Maryland — The University of Iowa men’s golf team completed the second round of the Big Ten Championships on Saturday at Baltimore Country Club’s East Course, carding a team score of 289 (+9) to sit in 18th place overall.

Sophomore Chance Rinkol led the Hawkeyes with an even-par 70, highlighted by three birdies on the back nine. Rinkol moved up eight places on the leaderboard and currently sits in 77th overall.

Sophomore Max Tjoa and freshman Ryan Shellberg each posted rounds of 73 (+3). Tjoa recorded two birdies on the front nine, while Shellberg tallied two birdies throughout his round. They are both tied for 63rd.

Senior Ian Meyer also finished with a 73 (+3), recording two birdies on the front nine to sit in 90th.

Freshman Gage Messingham contributed a 74 (+4), highlighted by birdies on holes 10, 12, and 15, sitting in 43rd.
