April 5th, 2025 by Ric Hanson
(Atlantic, Iowa) – The City of Atlantic’s Planning and Zoning Commission will review, discuss and vote this coming week, on a Commercial Building Site Plan for Cass Health, which proposes to construct a building for an optometry clinic at 1501 E. 7th Street. The meeting takes place in the Council’s Chambers at City Hall, beginning at 5:30-p.m. Tuesday, April 8th.
Shive-Hattery, on behalf of Cass Health, has applied for a commercial site plan review for the proposed building, which is in the “C-1” (Highway Commercial District), and is permissible under the City’s Code of Ordinances, under “Offices and Clinics.” The current deed holder of the property is Cass County Farm Bureau. The Commission has the options to approve the site plan as submitted and forward a permit recommendation to the City Council, or, they may disapprove the application and notify the applicant what actions need to be taken. In that case, Shive-Hattery would have to submit a revised copy of the site plan and application back to the P&Z for consideration.
