Alan Jenkins has been named the new head boys’ basketball coach at North Polk. Jenkins, a 2003 graduate of Atlantic is thrilled to lead the Comets on the basketball court in the future.

Jenkins’ family is in the North Polk area making it a family-oriented move as well.

Jenkins has had two stops prior to North Polk as he was previously at Southeast Polk and at his alma mater at Atlantic. The 2003 graduate led the Atlantic basketball program to winning 15+ games in five of the seven years of his tenure and rankings in the top in Class 3A during five of those seasons. Jenkins also led Atlantic to three Hawkeye 10 Conference titles.

Alan was surrounded by basketball at an early age. His dad, Don was the head coach at Atlantic for 20+ seasons. Basketball has always been a part of Alan’s life.

When Jenkins steps onto the floor in Alleman. he will have his work cut out for him but is excited to get to work.

Alan Jenkins will begin his first season with the Comets in the winter of 2025.
