Atlantic Boys Tennis Hitting Stride as Season Reaches Halfway Point
April 27th, 2025 by Jack McGonigal
The Atlantic Boys Tennis team has taken their last 3 duals as they have reached the back half of the regular season schedule. The Trojans come off wins over Southwest Valley, Denison-Schleswig and Clarinda. Head Coach Mike McDermott says the experience on his roster is playing a big factor.
Kinnick Juhl leads the senior heavy bunch with six victories on the season followed by fellow Senior Connor Johnson with five victories. McDermott says outside of the senior class, there is a lot of talent also on the roster.
The Trojans improved to 5-3 in duals with the Clarinda victory Friday which leaves just three left on the schedule. After the tournament Atlantic hosted Saturday, the Trojans travel to Harlan, Red Oak and Lewis Central ending with the conference tournament in Carroll. McDermott says Atlantic will have to play well in order to come out on top in each of those competitions.
Atlantic is back on the court Monday in Harlan and looking to extend their dual-winning streak to four.
