(Crawford County, PA) – A Pennsylvania man wanted in Iowa in connection with the death of a construction worker on Interstate 80, was arrested Feb. 13th at a location in Millerstown, PA. WHTM in Harrisburg, PA, reports Pennsylvania State Police were notified that the suspect, 41-year-old Clifford Miller, of Millerstown, was wanted in Pottawattamie County, Iowa for homicide by vehicle.
According to an Iowa State Patrol report from May 16, 2024, Miller was driving a UPS vehicle traveling on I-80 eastbound as two highway lanes merged into one due to maintenance work. Officials say Miller attempted to pass traffic when he allegedly struck and killed 36-year-old Matthew Dickerson, an Iowa DOT worker, and struck a second vehicle, injuring a 45-year-old.
The Iowa Department of Transportation wrote in response to the crash “Driving comes with a great responsibility, even greater in a work zone. It is crucial that you are patient and paying attention.”
Miller was arrested by Pennsylvania State Police and was being held in the Perry County (PA) Jail on $1 million bail, pending extradition to Iowa.
