The Tri-Center Trojans boys basketball team is off to their best start in recent memory and has every intention of keeping it going in the New Year. The Trojans have rolled out of the gate to a perfect 6-0 record. In addition to their record, they sport one of the most prolific offenses in the state. Tri-Center averages 76.5 points per game which ranks fourth amongst 2A schools and has scored at least 70 points in all but one game.  Head coach Chad Harder credits his team’s success to his group’s mindset and coachability.

What makes the numbers even more incredible is the time frame in which they had to prepare.

Given the Trojan’s significant offensive production, it should come as no surprise that their leaders are producing at a high level. Tyler Baatz is currently the fourth-leading scorer in 2A averaging 23.8 points per game. He is also making his presence felt on the glass, contributing over 10 rebounds per game. Sophomore AJ Harder isn’t far behind. He sits just outside the top eight in 2A, averaging 22.5 points per game while leading the Trojans in steals and assists. Coach Harder stated their dedication to the game contributes to their success.

However, it’s not just Baatz and Harder that the Trojans rely on.

Despite all the success, coach Harder thinks the best is yet to come and that his team has room to grow.

Work ethic, self-evaluation, and a will to win are all hallmarks of successful teams and Tri-Center checks them all.
