THOMAS (Tom) CAPPEL, 81, of Atlantic, died Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Heritage House in Atlantic. Funeral services  for THOMAS CAPPEL will be held 11-a.m., Friday, January 3, 2025, at the First United Methodist Church in Atlantic. Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Atlantic has the arrangements.

Visitation at the funeral home, with the family present, will be on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 5-until 7-p.m.

Burial is in the Atlantic Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to either the Atlantic Fire Department or to First United Methodist Church, and can be left or mailed to the Schmidt Family Funeral Home at PO Box 523 – Atlantic, IA in care of the Cappel family.

His wife  – Janet.

His daughter – Kelly (John).

His sons – Tom Cappel II (& wife Wendy); Tim Cappel; Trent (& wife Crystal) Cappel; Troy (& wife Megan) Cappel, and Todd Cappel.

His sister – Carol (Fred) Emmert.

8 grandchildren, his sister-in-law Diane (Duane) Petty, other relatives & friends.
