The Adams County Auditor’s Office has issued a report on the candidates and measures that will appear on the ballot for the respective County jurisdictions for the City School Election on November 7, 2023.

City of Carbon (All 2-year terms, 5 council members)

Mayor – John Gebbie (I)

City Council – Michael Kempton (I); Donna Rochau (I)

City Council – 3 positions open– no candidates filed

City of Corning (Mayor 2-year term, council 4 year terms)

Mayor – Chris Gilbert

City Council At-Large – Janice Mercer Leonard

City Council Ward 1 – Gary Badgett

City Council Ward 3 – Adam Goodvin (I)

Public Measure – Public Measure AG

Shall the following Public Measure be adopted?

Should the City of Corning, Iowa adopt a public measure to change the current council representation from 2 council members elected at large and one council member from each of 3 wards, to all 5 council members elected at large without any ward residency requirements? Said public measure would be effective at the beginning of the term following the next regular city election.

City of Nodaway (All 2 year terms)

Shall the composition and manner of selection for the Prescott Library Board of Trustees be changed to reduce the number of trustees from 6 to 5, and to change the residency requirement for trustees from city residents to county residents?
