Riverside’s Brink takes 5th at 1A Girls State Golf

The 2023 girls state golf tournaments finished up on Friday. In Class 1A Riverside’s Addison Brink finished with a 5th place medal with a +33, 177 for the two day event at Cedar Pointe Golf Course in Boone. Brink shot a 90 on day one and followed with an 87 on Friday.

IKM-Manning’s Kylie Powers also finished in the medals with a 7th place finish of +35, 179 for the tourney. She followed an 89 on Thursday with a round of 90 on Friday.

Sidney’s Avery Dowling finished 9th with a +37, 181. The Cowgirls were in the team field as well and they ended up in 7th place with a team total of +225, 801 for the tourney. Grundy Center won it with a +130, 706. The individual champion was Abbie Lindeman of Grundy Center with a +15, 159.

In Class 2A at American Legion Golf Course in Marshalltown Kuemper Catholic’s Addy Beiter finished 25th with a +43, 185. She had rounds of 88 and 97. The 2A individual champion was Chloe Bolte of Sumner-Fredericksburg with a +1-, 152. Roland-Story won the 2A team title with a +155, 722.

In Class 3A at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Falls, Gilbert won the team title with a +77, 653 and they were led by the individual champino Eden Lohrbach with a -1, 143 to win by 5 shots.

The Class 4A team champion at Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny was Pleasant Valley with a +73, 641. Morgan Rupp of Linn-Mar was the individual winner with a -2, 140.
