May 25th, 2023 by Chris Parks

The Iowa baseball team is two wins away from the Big Ten Tournament title.

(John Leo On the Hawkeye Network.) Sam Peterson’s three run homer in the top of the ninth capped a 9-4 victory over Indiana, a game Iowa trailed 4-1 in the seventh inning.

Kyle Huckstorf’s bases loaded double capped a four run seventh and gave Iowa a 5-4 lead.

That was Huckstorf on the postgame show on the Big Ten Network. Iowa survived a shaky start from starting pitcher Brody Brecht as the Hoosiers scored two runs in the first and added another in the second inning.

The Hawkeyes are 41-13 and return to action 9-a.m. Saturday, against the winner of today’s (Friday’s) game between #6 Michigan and #2 Indiana. They need one victory on Saturday to advance to Sunday’s title game.
