(Avoca, Iowa) – Officials with the Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office report one person died during a residential fire Saturday, in Avoca,. Authorities says at around 5:20 PM, Deputies along with Fire Departments from Avoca, Walnut, and Hancock were dispatched to the 200 block of North Walnut Street in Avoca for a house fire. A 29-year-old resident was found deceased inside.

The man was identified as Steven Stinson, of Avoca. Due to a death occurring from the fire, the Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division is conducting an investigation into the cause of the fire.
