Two people were injured during a car versus semi accident on Highway 34 in Mills County on Friday morning. The accident occurred at approximately 6:37 a.m. near the intersection of Highway 34 and 195th Street.

A 2008 Honda Civic driven by 59-year-old Felix Ngala of Bellevue, NE was westbound on Highway 34 at the 5 mile-marker and lost control and slid across the median into the eastbound lanes. A 2022 MACK TT semi drivin by 63-year-old David Scroggins of Red Oak was eastbound. The Honda struck the Semi and came to rest upright, facing north in the left eastbound lane. The Semi came to rest upright, facing east in the south ditch. Both Ngala and a passenger, 46-year-old Yensa Elizabeth of Bellevue, were injured during the crash. Ngala was taken by Glenwood Rescue to Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha and Elizabeth was transported by Silver City Rescue to the same hospital.

Both Ngala and Elizabeth were wearing their seat belts during the crash. No further details are known at this time.
