Schwenke, Harris, and Bitting inducted into AHS Wrestling Hall of Fame

Three former Atlantic wrestlers were inducted into the Atlantic Wrestling Hall of Fame on Friday night. Brad Schwenke, Steve Harris, and Clint Bitting were all welcomed into the Trojan Hall of Fame.

Schwenke was a two-time state medal winner. He finished 8th his junior year and was a state runner-up his senior season. He finished that final year with 46 wins and had a career record of 151-46. He aided the Trojans in a fourth-place team finish at the 2011 traditional state tournament and dual state tournament.

Harris was a 1971 graduate of Atlantic as was a member of the first ever Atlantic High School wrestling team in 1968. He became the first Trojan wrestler to win a Conference Title. He had a 16-9 record his junior season and went 28-3 his senior year and lost to an eventual state champion in the district tournament.

Bitting was a 2001 AHS graduate. He was a three-time state qualifier and finished his senior year as a district champion and a record of 38-10. He was a two-time Hawkeye Ten Conference Tournament and John J. Harris Tournament runner-up. He finished with a career record of 128-51.

The Hall of Fame banquet was held this past Friday at the Venue in Atlantic.
