Junior Patrick McCaffery scored 21 points to help lead No. 25 Iowa to a 74-71 win over Clemson on Friday night to reach the Emerald Coast Classic championship game.

The Hawkeyes had a 14-point lead with just under eight minutes left to play, but Clemson put together a 16-2 run to tie the game at 62. The Hawkeyes got back on top and held off the Tigers. A Tiger three cut the Iowa lead to 72-71 with 4.1 seconds left but Tony Perkins helped seal the game by running some time off on a nice inbounds play and then knocking down two free throws with 1.5 seconds left.

Perkins finished with 11 points and Kris Murray added 10 points and 12 rebounds for the Hawkeyes. Iowa improved to 5-0 and will now face TCU in the title game of the tournament on Saturday. TCU beat Cal 59-48 in the other semifinal.

We’ll have that game on KJAN with pregame at 5:00 p.m. and tip-off at 6:00 p.m.
