The Atlantic girls basketball team will get their season started this week and the Trojans will have good mix of experience and youth. The Trojans bring back their top 4 scorers from last season and head coach Dan Vargason says it’s a good group to show the new faces the way.

The Trojans are coming off a 9-14 campaign in 2021-22. Consistent scoring was an issue last season for the Trojans and Coach Vargason said they need to build some shooting confidence across the board.

Atlantic opens up with a road trip to Denison-Schleswig on Tuesday and then will host AC/GC a week later to get the season rolling. Coach Vargason said he’s just looking for the right attitude and effort early in the year.

Some of the key returning players for the Trojans are Paytn Harter who had a phenomenal freshman season last year with 312 points to lead the team. Jada Jensen returns after dropping 279 points and a team leading 80 assists and 77 steals last season. Aubrey Guyer had 155 points, 103 rebounds, and a team best 12 blocks in 2021-22.
