Drake forward Tucker DeVries has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Freshman of the Year. DeVries led the Bulldogs in scoring at just over 13 and a half points per game as the Bulldogs posted their fourth straight 20-win season and finished tied for second in the Valley race. He also made the transition to play for his father Darian.

Darian DeVries says it was pretty easy to adjust to coaching his son.

The Bulldogs are the third seed in the Missouri Valley Tournament and will play Southern Illinois Friday night in St. Louis.
