Exira-EHK advances with high energy win over East Mills

The Exira-EHK Spartans are heading back to the Regional Finals after a 58-40 win over East mills in Elk Horn on Friday night. The Spartans controlled most of the game with high energy and intense defense. The Spartans were up 12 at half and put the game out of reach with a 13-6 advantage in the third quarter.

Exira-EHK Head Coach Tom Petersen said he was really proud of the effort the girls brought to the game.

Macy Emgarten led the Spartans with 21 points. Shay Burmeister added 13 and Quinn Grubbs added 11. Emgarten was excited to advance.

Exira-EHK improved to 22-1 on the season. The Spartans will play in a Regional Final for the third straight season and for the 7th time in the past 8 seasons. They will face off against Stanton next Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in Atlantic. Coach Petersen talked about meeting the Viqueens.

East Mills was led by 15 points from Emily Williams and 12 from Miah Urban. The Wolverines end their season with a record of 19-5.
