Chiefs win overtime thriller over Chargers to keep AFC West lead

Patrick Mahomes hit Travis Kelce for a 34-yard touchdown pass in overtime and the Kansas City Chiefs beat the LA Chargers 34-28. The win kept the Chiefs in first place in the AFC West and still tied for the top overall seed in the AFC.

The Chargers led the game at half 14-10 and 14-13 by the end of the third quarter. Austin Ekeler scored on a two yard run following a Mahomes interception early in the fourth quarter to make it 21-13. The Chiefs answered with a 1 yard pass to Tyreek Hill and a 2 point conversion throw to Clyde Edwards-Helaire to tie it. San Diego then scored on an 8 yard pass from Justin Herbert to Keenan Allen with 5:25 left. The Chiefs would tie it again on a 7 yard pass from Mahomes to Kelce to send it to overtime.

Mahomes finished 31-47 passing for 410 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 1 interception. Travis Kelce had 10 catches for 191 yards and the two big late scores. The Chiefs improved to 9-4 and will now prep to host the Steelers on the 26th.
