Ryan Hawkins had a strong debut for the Creighton Bluejays on Tuesday night, finishing with a double-double to aid a Creighton comeback victory. Hawkins finished with 16 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 assists to help the Bluejays rally from a nine point halftime deficit to a 90-77 opening win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

Hawkins started and logged 34 minutes in his first game with the Bluejays. He joined the squad this past spring after entering the NCAA transfer portal and taking advantage of his extra year of eligibility due to the pandemic. Hawkins decided to leave Northwest Missouri State after helping them to another championship in the spring of 2021.

Next up for the Bluejays is a home game against Kennesaw State on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
