The Kansas Chiefs scored 13 points in the opening half and used lots of pressure on Packer’s quarterback Jordan Love to earn their fifth win of the season Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium. The Packers got a fourth quarter touchdown on a sideline pass to Allen Lazard but the Chiefs hit on a couple of big plays to run out the rest of the clock. Patrick Mahomes hit Tyreek Hill for a first down on a third and ten near midfield to seal the game.

The Packers struggled to get the offense moving with Jordan Love under center due to the absence of Aaron Rodgers due to COVID protocols. Green Bay finally put together a drive early in the fourth quarter but it ended when Chiefs cornerback L’Jarius Sneed picked off a pass intended for Davante Adams near the goal line. The Packers scored on the next drive but it was too little, too late.

Patrick Mahomes threw for 166 yards and one score to Travis Kelce in the first quarter. Harrison Butker connected on both of his field goal attempts in the game, including a 55 yarder right before half.

Jordan Love finished 19 of 34 passing for 190 yards with one TD and one interception in his first career start. The Packers fell to 7-2 on the year.

The Chiefs improved to 5-4 on the season and will now prep for a Sunday Night Football game at the Las Vegas Raiders next Sunday.
