The Wisconsin Badgers rode a suffocating defensive effort to a 27-7 win over Iowa on Saturday at Camp Randall Stadium. The Badgers held the Hawkeyes to 2-13 on third down and just 156 total yards. The Badger D also recovered three fumbles on the day to help secure the win.

Wisconsin shut out the Hawkeyes in the first half and built a 20-0 lead before Iowa got on the board in the third. The Badgers Badger quarterback Graham Mertz had two touchdown runs and threw for another to Jake Ferguson.

Wisconsin improves to 5-3 on the season and moves in to a tie for first in the Big Ten West.

Iowa falls to 6-2 on the season and fall into a tie for that second place spot in the Big Ten West with Purdue and Wisconsin, the two teams they have fallen to in the past two games.

Next up for Iowa is a road trip to face Northwestern.
