The Iowa State Cyclones picked up a thrilling 24-21 win over 8th-ranked Oklahoma State on Saturday at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames. Breece Hall ran in from 4 yards out with 5:29 to go in the game to provide the winning margin. The Iowa State defense then came up with two huge stops to seal the victory and send fans pouring onto the field.

Iowa State quarterback Brock Purdy had a fantastic game going 27-33 for 307 yards with 2 touchdowns. His second touchdown of the day to Xavier Hutchinson tied the game at 14 early in the second half. The 9 yard score came after a touchdown throw to Hutchinson was called back just a few plays earlier on a poor taunting penalty that got the crowd even more raucous down the stretch.

Cowboys quarterback Spencer Sanders went 15-24 on the day for 225 yards and 3 scores, two of those to wideout Brennan Presley.

Iowa State improved to 5-2 on the season and 3-1 in the Big 12. Oklahoma State suffered their first loss and are now 6-1 overall and 3-1 in the conference.

Next up for the Cyclones is a trip to Morgantown, WV to face the Mountaineers in a 1:00 p.m. CT game next Saturday.
