The CAM volleyball team had their season come to a close with a loss to Ankeny Christian 3-0 in the Class 1A Region 3 Semifinals on Monday. The 6th ranked Eagles were able to put together more significant runs all match long.

The Eagles edged out to a 6 point lead at 23-17 late in the opening set but the Cougars responded. CAM went on a six point rally to tie the set at 23 but that was all they could sustain. A service error and a kill on the right side gave the Eagles the next two points and the set. The Eagles seemed to ride that energy the rest of the way. The Eagles put together two runs of five points and one of 6 in the second to win 25-12. They went on to have two 6-point rallies in the third and secured the sweep with a 25-11 set three advantage.

CAM ends their season with a record of 23-11. Ankeny Christian improved to 33-3 with the victory and advance to the Region 3 Final on Wednesday. The Eagles will face Gladbrook-Reinbeck at Marshalltown High School at 6:00 p.m.
