(KCCI) AMES, Iowa — The Hawkeyes will keep the coveted Cy-Hawk trophy yet again. No. 9 Iowa forced three turnovers in the third quarter, four in the game, and pulled away in the second half to beat No. 9 Iowa State 27-17. This is the sixth year in a row the Hawkeyes have beaten their arch-rivals. This one, however, was the biggest.

It was the first time ever each team was ranked, and each team was in the top 10. Plus, ESPN’s College GameDay was in town for the nationally-televised broadcast. Iowa was a 4.5-point underdog, but grabbed a 14-3 lead in the 2nd quarter on a Charlie Jones TD catch.
