CDC reports substantial, high COVID-19 transmission in most Iowa counties

DES MOINES, Iowa — The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports substantial or high levels of COVID-19 transmission in most Iowa. A county-by-county map of Iowa shows high transmission levels in multiple Iowa counties, including (Locally): Cass, Adair, Audubon, Guthrie, Harrison, Pottawattamie, Mills, and Ringgold. The number of people in Cass County who are fully vaccinated, according to the CDC, is 48%, while 51.7% have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

Adams, Fremont, Dallas and Madison Counties report a substantial rate of COVID-19 transmission.

View the CDC’s COVID-19 data tracker here. The Iowa Department of Public Health reports more than 150 patients being treated for COVID-19, up from 100 last week. Thirteen percent of those hospitalized with COVID-19 are under age 30, and 3% are under age 18.
