The Atlantic Trojans made quick work of the Glenwood Rams on the softball diamond Monday night. The Trojans grabbed a pair of 12-0 victories in the doubleheader, the first game in 3 innings and the second game in 4 innings of play.

The Trojans struck early in the first game. Olivia Engler started the opening frame with three straight strikeouts. She then went on to open the scoring with a three-run homer over the center field fence. The Trojans added three more in the second and six in the third. Maleana Woodward ended it with a bases-loaded double that brought all three home. Engler finished with 7 strikeouts in the contest.

Game two started with the Trojans racking up 5 runs in the opening frame. They added 1 in the 2nd, four in the 3rd, and two more to seal it in the fourth. Caroline Pellett crossed home safely before a tag out at third to provide the final margin.

Atlantic Head Coach Terry Hinzmann was pleased with how the team carried over momentum from a strong weekend at the Fort Dodge tournament.

Olivia Engler said the good hitting night snowballed throughout the team.

Maleana Woodward thought confidence built through the lineup.

The Trojans improved to 23-5 on the season and will host Kuemper on Tuesday night. Glenwood falls to 6-15 on the year.
