The Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office, Friday, reported two people were arrested following a traffic stop near Oakland on Thursday. Authorities say Deputies were responding to an emergency call when a Deputy turned north on 390th Street from Highway 6 and located a Dodge Ram 1500 that had just left the area where a truck load of garbage and trash had been dumped in the middle of the roadway.

Following a traffic stop, the driver, 49-year old James Lafayette Belback, admitted to depositing trash in the roadway. Belback was transported to the jail for several violations against the State of Iowa and Pottawattamie County. A passenger, 24-year old Crysta Lee Brammer, of Oakland, was arrested for being a Fugitive from Justice for escape from custody.

The Sheriff’s Office reports also, 26-year old Jacob William Archibald was arrested Thursday, on two counts of Child Endangerment with substantial risk of injury, in connection with a warrant.  29-year old Ian James Lybarger, of Omaha, was arrested Thursday at the Fremont County Jail, on Pott. County warrants for Leaving the scene of an injury accident, Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Owners Consent, Assault on persons in certain occupations w/bodily injury, and Theft in the 5th & 2nd Degrees.

Sheriff’s officials say 56-year old Ruth Helen Starkey, of Sheldon, was arrested following a traffic stop at Sharon Drive and Old Lincoln Highway near Crescent on Thursday. Starkey was charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury or Mental Illness.

And, 56-year old Ronald Wayne Cody was arrested following a traffic stop near Pioneer Trail and 385th Street near Macedonia early Thursday morning. Cody was charged with Operating While Intoxicated 1st Offense and Driving While License Suspended or Revoked.
