Montgomery County Emergency Management Coordinator Brian Hamman said early Tuesday afternoon, there were NO PLANNED POWER OUTAGES FOR MONTGOMERY COUNTY. Hamman said on social media, “I have reached out to MidAmerican Energy, Southwest Iowa REC, Alliant Energy and all have stated that there is no planned power outages for Montgomery County. Our area is serviced by a different grid source from others who are experiencing these issues and at this point, we appear to be unaffected.

The City of Villisca is still experiencing power issues and for the time being, the Villisca Community Building will be opened as a temporary warming center should you need a warm location. This location is powered by generator and the heat is on!
