Oakland man arrested following a pursuit Sunday morning

An attempt to stop a vehicle in Red Oak for a traffic offense early this (Sunday) morning, escalated into a pursuit, and the arrest of a man from a man from Pottawattamie County. Red Oak Police say officers tried to stop 32-year old Kirk Kencaid Kinser, of Oakland, at around 12:21-a.m.  Kinser sped-off and took officers on a chase through Red Oak until he lost control at the T-intersection of W. 4th and W. Coolbaugh Streets. The vehicle he was driving struck a fire hydrant, and became disabled. No injuries were reported.

Kinser was taken into custody without further incident. He faces charges that include Driving While Barred, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Eluding, and Reckless Driving. He was also arrested on a warrant out of Pottawattamie County for Contempt of Court. Kinser was being held without bond in the Montgomery County Jail. Red Oak Police were assisted during the incident by Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputies.
