Atlantic Police Chief loses part of his uniform…for a good cause

Donnie Drennan (Left), and Mike Blevins (Right), cut the sleeves off of Police Chief Dave Erickson’s uniform to take custody of the Breast Cancer Awareness patches.

Two members from Pymosa Masonic Lodge 271, Mike Blevins and Donnie Drennan, came to City Hall in Atlantic, Tuesday, and cut the sleeves off Chief Dave Erickson’s uniform, in exchange for $100 and to get his pink patches for breast cancer awareness.  Officials say Mike Blevins turned around afterward and gave one of the sleeves to the Deputy City Clerk Ali Tupper, a breast cancer survivor.

Chief Erickson is challenging anyone in town to beat the $100 donation. to get HIS patches. Contact the Atlantic P-D at 243-3512 (during business hours), or stop-by to get your bid in today! The person or group of people with the highest bid gets to cut the sleeves off Chief Erickson again, during the November 4th City Council meeting.

Bids will be taken through October 30 at 4:00 pm. All proceeds will go to Cass County Relay for Life, benefiting the American Cancer Society.

The patches can be purchased separately for $10 and are available for purchase at the Atlantic Police Department, Atlantic City Hall, and Atlantic Chamber of Commerce offices.
