(Radio Iowa) – This college football season may look like none other but Iowa athletic director Gary Barta says the role of the playoff committee does not change. Barta is chair of the committee that will begin meeting in November and eventually choose the four teams that compete in the playoff.

The circumstances are unusual. The Big-12 and ACC have been playing for two weeks and the SEC starts this coming weekend. Add to that the Big Ten will start in a little more than a month and the PAC-12 is exploring a possible return.

The number of games teams may play could vary greatly from one conference to another.
