Injury accident in Page County Tue. morning

One person was injured during a single-vehicle accident that took place at around 2:40 this (Tuesday) morning, in Page County. The Page County Sheriff’s Office reports 22-year old Jacob James Bond, of Essex, was driving a 2009 Chevy Impala southbound on Highway 48, when the car drifted to the right of the fog line, outside the rumble strips.

When Bond over-corrected, the car crossed the center line and left the road. It entered the east ditch that was holding standing water of two-to three-feet deep. The vehicle rolled at least once and came to rest on its roof in the water. Bond had exited the vehicle prior to the accident being reported by a passerby as a vehicle in the ditch.

He was found by Emergency personnel and transported to Shenandoah Memorial Hospital by Shenandoah Ambulance Service. Bond was issued a citation for Failure to maintain control. The accident is still under investigation and more charges are possible at this time.

The Shenandoah Police Department, Shenandoah Fire Department, Shenandoah Ambulance service assisted the Page County Sheriff’s Office with this incident.
