The Iowa Department of Public Health’s COVID-19 dashboard, today (Friday) (as of 10-a.m.), shows two more cases of the virus have been confirmed in Cass County, for a total of 40.  Statewide, there are an additional 696 positive cases of COVID-19, for a total of 44,474, and 11 more deaths, for a total of 865. IDPH data show 475,497 Iowans have been tested for the virus. Of those, 428,115 have tested Negative for the virus, while 32,495 have recovered.

There are currently 225 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, down from 237 the previous day. IDPH data shows 71 patients listed in intensive care, down five from Thursday. There are 29 patients on ventilators, down two from the previous day. There were 31 patients admitted in the last 24 hours, also down two from the previous day.

Hospitals in western/southwest Iowa report: 13 people are hospitalized with COVID-19; eight are in an ICU; two were recently admitted, and three people are on a ventilator.

There are coronavirus outbreaks in 22 of Iowa’s long-term care facilities. IDPH reports 747 positive cases and 296 recoveries within those facilities. There have been 468 deaths in Iowa’s long-term care facilities, three more than the last report.
