Dead, emaciated dog dumped near Cumberland over the weekend

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to help in finding two persons who were party to an incident this weekend. On Saturday, June 27, 2020, at about 3:24 p.m., the Cass County Sheriff’s Office received a report of two individuals placing a deceased dog into a ditch in rural Cumberland on 650th Street just north of PELLA Road (Corrected from earlier press release). The animal appeared to be emaciated and neglected. The dog is described as a 30-40 lb liver and white mixed breed with shorter hair.

The individuals were in an older model black Pontiac with a sticker across the top front of the windshield and a sticker across the back window. Anyone with potential information regarding the incident as strongly encouraged to contact Sgt. Tyler Shiels at the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, 712-243-2206.
