According to reports, Kansas City Chiefs Punter Dustin Colquitt has been released. The release of the longest tenured member of the Chiefs was first reported by NFL Network.

Colquitt posted a note to his Instagram account that seemed to confirm the move. He said in part, “I have enjoyed my time in Chiefs Kingdom, all things come to an end, sometimes sooner than you hoped … Holding this post for 15 years has been an honor that I never took for granted. Thank you KC.”

Colquitt’s last game as a Chief was the Super Bowl LIV victory over San Francisco. He joined the Chiefs as a 3rd round draft pick from Tennessee in 2005 and was a 2-time Pro Bowl selection over his 15 seasons.

The Chiefs would save $2 million against their salary cap by releasing Colquitt.
