The City of Harlan is warning residents NOT TO FLUSH paper towels, wash cloths or baby wipes (of any kind, no matter what the packaging says) into the City Sewer Systems. Officials say those items cannot be processed and will clog the pumping systems, eventually SHUTTING DOWN the City’s wastewater system. If you must use those items, throw them into a waste basket and throw them out with the rest of your trash. The only flushable items are toilet paper and facial tissue.
