Harlan boys dominate Atlantic

The Harlan boys basketball team pounced early on Atlantic and ran away with a 71-41 victory on Monday night. The Cyclones opened the game on an 8-0 run and led 25-3 by the end of the first quarter. Harlan was ahead 36-12 by the end of the half and 59-21 after three quarters.

Connor Bruck led the way for the Cyclones with 18 points, including four makes from beyond the arc. Bruck set the tempo early and dropped in 10 in the opening period. Three other players finished in double figures for the Cyclones; Michael Heithoff 12, Will McLaughlin 11, and Johnathan Monson 10.

Harlan improves to 13-5 on the season and will host Creston on Friday.

Atlantic falls to 7-10 on the season and will take on Maryville, MO on Thursday night in Atlantic. The Trojans and Cyclones meet again in Atlantic in a week for a make-up game from a weather postponement.
